Group Show at Nacha Gallery, Chiangmai in 2013

About 20 artists stayed at a coffee mountain for a week to produce an original work.

My concept was to paint a Garuda/Naga with both hands within six days.

Garuda is the divine bird and Naga the serpent in Thai culture. Garuda is deemed the strong/good while Naga the weak/evil.

In Thai temple Garuda is usually seen grapping two Naga with its claws.

I wanted to create a Garuda that is made up of two Naga, one red and one green; hence to dissolve the boundary between strong and weak, good and evil.

The idea of using both hands is to symbolize the balance between strong and weak.

The painting was displayed along side a video showing the process.
