Perfect Day

I created a date with found objects and posted a photo everyday on Instagram in 2022.

In the end I formed 12 collages with photos of each month.

My concept is to achieve equality and harmony through deconstruction of forms into their basic elements.

In this series Perfect Day 2022 I will form dates with found objects and photos are minted as NFT. I wish to capture the impermanence of time with the permanence of block chain. Forming a date in digital format with found objects is also my way to bridge the real world and crypto art.

This project allows me to pay attention to my natural surrounding and appreciate the beauty of mundane objects at home. The improvisation of Land Art is also an inspiration. Flowers, leaves, stones, sand, twigs....are picked, arranged, photographed and returned.

I would pay tribute to two conceptual artists On Kawara and 谢德庆 Tehching Hsieh with this project.

In his Date Painting series which spanned decades On Kawara meticulously hand painted a date on canvas as the sole subject. He has created nearly 3000 dates in over 100 cities.

Tehching Hsieh is renowned for a few one-year projects in which he challenged body endurance and concept of time. In Time Clock Piece he punched a time clock every hour (24 times a day!) in his NY studio for the entire year.

Every date is based on a standard format. Each number follows 3 dots X 5 dots.

Most photos are taken with my Oppo mobile phone. Mobile phone is used for the sake of mobility as I can create the artwork anywhere (parks, streets, beaches...) when the opportunity and inspiration arise.

Photos are then cropped and slightly adjusted on Photoshop. Each photo is saved as 300dpi, 3000 X 4000 pixels.
